“Live On Purpose” Challenge Day 6: Stop Being Your Own Worst Enemy

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ~ Buddha

When it comes to following our dreams and doing the things we’re most passionate about we can be our own worst enemy. We fill our brains with negative self talk so much that we eventually begin to believe it. We begin to believe that we’re not worthy enough, we’re not deserving enough, we’re not capable enough, we’re not pretty enough, or skinny enough, or smart enough. What our inner voice says to us has a direct impact on how we see ourselves and how we navigate through the world and the more you talk about negative things in your life, the more you call them in. You have to stop self- sabotaging and start prophesizing. If you want success, if you want wisdom, if you want to be prosperous and healthy, you must confidently declare words of faith and victory over yourself and your family. You have to change your inner voice. Your words have power. Not only for you, but with those around you. Every word you speak produces an effect in yourself and in others.

The truth of the matter is that your words send out an energy that creates a reaction in others…one that tends to be returned to you in spades. You awaken in others the attitudes you hold in yourself. Today I want you to think about the words you say to yourself. What are the messages you’re consciously or subconsciously telling yourself and sending to others? If the success or failure of the whole world depended on who you were and what you said, what words would you speak? How do the words you say to yourself influence the type of day you have? And really be honest with yourself. Are you constantly saying to yourself “I’m not enough?”, “I can’t do this, this, or this”, or “There’s no way they’ll ever choose me.” Why is it that it is easier for you to believe the negative talk you tell yourself than it is to believe the positive?

Take some time today to think about these questions, write your responses down in a notebook or in a journal and reflect on them. Once you’ve done that I want you to write down and say the following:

  • Starting today I am releasing every self-doubt, every non-affirming thought, and anything that isn’t contributing to my greater good.

  • Today I am enough and I trust that as I love and care for myself the Universe will reward me in kind.

  • I am the greatest thing that will ever happen to me.

Think about this for a minute because YOUR world does depend on who you are and the words you speak.

Please be kind to yourself. Share this message with anyone who needs to hear it.
