Your Next Weekend Getaway Is Closer Than You Think
Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer and with the kids getting ready to start school this week the hubby and I decided to take the family on a little weekend getaway staycation. Our getaway of choice was Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ. While many opt to head to the Jersey Shore we decided to stay a little closer to home and avoid the crowds that tend to frequent the shore and Ocean City (Maryland).
A short 1 hour drive from our home makes Crystal Springs the perfect staycation getaway because you get all the resort feels minus the airfare. This was our second time visiting Crystal Springs and we love it because it has so many activities for every member of the family. Whether it's golf, fishing, laser tag, archery tag the flying trapeze, or fencing there is something for everyone. While some of these activities do have a nominal fee there are others like the photo scavenger hunt, glow in the dark golf, marshmallow roasting, badminton, and other outdoor games that are free for resort guests.
While my family and I are not the outdoorsy/fencing types we chose to spend most of our time during the day lounging by the pool. At night we took the kids to play glow in the dark golf (which they loved) and roasted marshmallows by the fire on the game deck. We were only there for 3 days but it was definitely enough time to get in some R & R and mentally prepare for the upcoming school year.
Crystal Springs definitely is not a party resort, but if you're looking to get away with the family or just need a little get away to unwind and relax then this is perfect.
